The CYDaily Crew would like to thank you all for your readership these past couple weeks, and thank you for taking action at home in Canada to push for positive change. While it seems like COP15 was the most pivotal moment for climate change, and unfortunately did not yield the outcome we had wished and worked for, what is most significant is the work we do at home. We know many of you are disappointed, disheartened, maybe even angry, but do not let your work and your spirit be overwhelmed by these emotions. Take a small breather, go for a walk, spend time with your friends and family, read a book – remember that while we are trying to help people and life all around the world, we have to start close to home and take care of those closest to us – our family, friends, and ourselves.
What we realized together here in Copenhagen is that our current government did not represent fairly the voices of Canadians at the negotiations. We have met with provincial, municipal, faith, youth, indigenous, and academic leaders from all parts of Canada who have stepped up to deal with this issue, and we have met with politicians, workers, farmers, and professionals who care deeply about creating a sustainable future. So, remember that you are not alone, we are not alone, there are many who stand beside us, and many who join this movement every day.

The outcome of COP-15 is still being determined, so for now, I’m going to emotionally detach myself from what is on the table at present, and just lay out the facts.READ MORE.
Addressing a pack press room at 10:30 pm local time in Copenhagen, Barack Obama declared last night that there had been a "meaningful and unprecedented breakthrough" that had been reached amongst five countries (not including Canada), though much work still needed to be done to reach a legally binding treaty. Wow! I just received a massage from my CYD brother Dean and I feel a million times better. This is the last day the majority of our CYD family will be together here in Copenhagen. Climate change has brought us together from all over our beautiful country and we’ve really created a fierce and loving community as the Canadian Youth Delegation to Copenhagen. It was my first time attending a global conference like this and I had no idea what to expect. All I really knew was that I was going to have an amazing experience with some really amazing people. And that is exactly what happened. READ MORE.

Perspective of a COP Veteran Nicholas Nadeau I didn’t come here expecting to change the world, but simply hoping to engage my government and demand that they represent the majority of Canadians who want strong action on climate change. Did that happen? No. Will I stop trying? Never. READ MORE.
Honorary CYD-er: Perspective of a non-CYD Who Stepped It Up at COP Aldous Sperl As an independent Canadian youth, without affiliation to a specific group, navigating the conference and figuring out how to be effective proved to be a most difficult task. I decided early on that the way in which I could have the most impact, was to be active in highlighting Canada’s abysmal and pathetic stance towards dealing with climate change. READ MORE
